Hristofor Bunardzhiev was born in 1962.
He is a typical representative of his astronomical sign Sagittarius - with a clear vision for the future, with specific and precise objectives that he follows in his personal and professional development.
His elementary education was in the school "Kiril Hristov" in Stara Zagora. After that he studied in the English Language Hischool in Plovdiv, and later in the Stara Zagora electrotechnical hischool "G. Rakovsky", where he graduated with honors, second in his class. After he was accepted at the Technical University of Gabrovo, he served its regular two-year military service in the Bulgarian army, where he also learned Turkish.
After applying for a student exchange program, was sent to Kiev's Polytechnical Institute in the specialty "Hidropneumoautomatics" Later he decided to develop in the field of information technology and transferred to distance training, taking two years for one at an individual plan.
He started his career as a young professional in the national power plant complex "Maritza East", where he created one of the first local computer networks and CAD systems in the country. At the yearly age of 23, he was one of the youngest members of the Union of Mathematicians in Bulgaria, with his development of a software application.
He graduated with honours a year and a half before his classmates!
On 19.03.1989, in the registry of the Stara Zagora District Court under number 6 he created Bulcom - one of the first private companies in the new economic history of Bulgaria. During its first year, for nine months the company managed to achieve a sales revenue of over 300 thousand Leva.
But the time for development of information technologies and applications had not yet come. After careful analysis of the market situation at the beginning of 1990, the company focused on the agricultural sector as a strategic one for the development of our country. At the end of 1990, the first deliveries of plant protection products were accomplished, and later in 1991 and 1992 the company developed a complete product portfolio of crop protection products and fertilizers. A rapid development of a distribution network followed, with the opening of offices in Nova Zagora, Karnobat and Burgas in 1992.
This is how BULAGRO was born - one of the few companies in Bulgaria's TOP 100 from the agribusiness sector. A few years later BULOIL was established - the company within the holding with focus on the supply of petroleum products and fuel for the farming business. Since 1996 Bulagro is an importer of high-quality hybrid seeds, which guarantee high yields. Later in the product portfolio of the group were included the buy-back programs for cereal production, and as a strategy for risk management - agricultural insurances.
After careful analysis of the deplorable state of the agricultural park of the country, in 1998 was founded another company from the group - BULAGRO MACHINES - the company responsible for the import, distribution and most importantly - the organization of an efficient and highly professional service of modern agricultural machinery.
The product portfolio of the group today includes leading international brands such as BASF, Bayer, Chemtura, Valagro, Caussade Semences, Pöttinger Hardi and many others.
Hristofor Bunardzhiev is Agrobusinessmen of Bulgaria for 2008 and 2012.
Projects with social value are his two terms as President of the Club of the Employer in Stara Zagora, as well as his two terms as President of BATA - The Bulgarian Association of Traders of Agriculture. From second project was born the exhibition BATA, which is currently the largest exhibition for agricultural machinery not only in Bulgaria but in the Balkans.
In 2012 Bunardzhiev was awarded the honorary title Doctor Honoris Causa of the Thracian University in Stara Zagora. His contribution to the development of the Faculty of Economics of the University include the construction of a modern academic audience, participation in the educational process as a guest speaker, stimulation and support of the practical training of students.
